This is a short article about the Internet of Things

INTRODUCTION
The Internet of Things(IoT) is a network of physical "things" that are embedded with software,connectivity and sensors allowing these "things" or objects to collect and exchange data.IoT aims to share internet connectivity from standard devices like computer, mobile phone, tablet to devices that you wouldn't necessarily expect to have it,like TVs.So it basically makes the device(like a TV) smart.
THE MECHANICS OF IOT
These are the main components and workings of IoT systems:-Devices(with sensors): Sensors and devices help to collect live data from the surrounding environment.For example,let's say the sensor detects whether there are moving objects inside a room,which could for example suggest there's an intruder inside a room that was meant to be empty.We will continue to use this example in next steps.-Connectivity:The collected data is sent to a cloud infrastructure.The sensors are connected to the cloud through one or more medium of communication,like mobile network,Bluetooth, WI-FI,etc.-Data Processing:After data is collected, and it gets to the cloud,the software processes the data.This could involve using computer vision to detect movement in the room,in our example.4)User Interface:Information needs to be available to the end-user either by triggering alarms on phones or sending text or email notifications. This is where you need an interface that keeps track of what is happening on the IoT system for the user.
ADVANTAGES OF IOT
1.Automation and Control-Machines can communicate and help increase performance and better efficiency.This is due to objects being connected digitally,and the fact that they are controlled wirelessly.2.Communication and Information Sharing- IoT facilitates communication amongst devices,thus encouraging information sharing to make better decisions.3.Saving Time and Money-Since it's devices communicating with other devices,interactions are faster and more accurate,reducing time and money that would otherwise be spent on multiple attempted interactions to achieve the same goal.
DISADVANTAGES OF IOT
1.Complexity and Compliance- The design of IoT systems can be quite complicated,and compliance can be difficult due to IoT having it's own set of regulations.2.Privacy-At times,IoT can result in large amounts of sensitive data about users being exposed without the users being aware.3.Flexibility- Sometimes it may be difficult to integrate with other systems due to the diversity of the systems in IoT.I hope you enjoyed that.Cheers,
